Prosthetic leg clinic in Karachi, answering 24/7
Prosthetic legs made in Karachi to fit you, not a size chart
Most artificial legs fail at the socket, not at the knee or the foot. We measure and cast your leg ourselves, try a clear test socket before anything is final, and keep adjusting until you can walk without pain.

How much does a prosthetic leg cost in Pakistan?
At our Karachi clinic a complete below-knee leg costs Rs 80,000 to about Rs 900,000, and an above-knee leg Rs 150,000 to Rs 2,500,000 or more. The range is wide because the parts are different: a locally made foot and a simple knee cost far less than a carbon foot or a hydraulic knee. You get a firm price after a free assessment, and it does not change unless you agree.
- Your amputation levelBelow knee, above knee, hip or foot.
- The knee and footLocal, mid range or imported.
- Your stump and goalsShape, skin, strength and how far you want to walk.
Start with your amputation level
Which prosthetic leg do you need?
The level of the amputation decides almost everything: the shape of the socket, whether you need a knee joint, how long training takes, and what the leg costs. Pick the one that matches.
Below knee
The level we fit most often, and the quickest to learn. Many people walk with a stick within weeks.
From Rs 80,000Above knee
Needs a knee joint, a careful thigh socket and more training. The knee you choose moves the price most.
From Rs 150,000Through the knee or hip
A long, strong limb through the knee, or a full leg from the hip. Each needs its own socket design.
From Rs 170,000Partial foot and Syme's
Toes, the front of the foot, or through the ankle. Often a filler or a slim ankle socket, not a full leg.
From Rs 10,000Both legs
Shorter legs at first, more balance work and a plan for each side, usually below knee on both.
From Rs 160,000Children
Children grow out of sockets, often within a year, so we plan for growth from the first fitting.
From Rs 45,000
Who we fit
Most of our patients come to us after one of these
More than one adult in four in Pakistan lives with diabetes (IDF Diabetes Atlas, 2021), and diabetes is the most common cause of leg amputation that does not follow an injury. Road accidents are the other big reason. The plan is different for each, and so is the leg.

After diabetic amputation
Healing, skin care and protecting the other foot come first. The leg is planned around all three.

Parts of a leg
What a prosthetic leg is made of, and what drives the price
Four parts do the work. The socket decides whether you can wear the leg at all. The knee and the foot decide most of the cost.

Socket
The part that holds your stump. If the socket is wrong, nothing else matters, so we try it as a clear test socket first.
Effect on the price
Sockets and fit
Liner and suspension
How the leg stays on: straps, a pin, suction or a seal-in liner. It changes comfort more than it changes the price.

Knee joint
Only above-knee and higher levels need one. From a simple locking knee to hydraulic knees, this is the biggest price jump.

Foot
From a solid SACH foot to carbon energy-return feet. A better foot makes each step less tiring, especially on long days.

How it works
From your first visit to your first steps
For a straightforward below-knee leg this usually means two to four visits over two to three weeks. Above-knee and hip-level legs take longer.
- 1
Free assessment
We look at the stump, the skin, your other leg and your day, then give you a firm price.
- 2
Measuring and casting
A plaster cast or careful hand measurements of the stump, taken by our own team.
- 3
Test socket
A clear socket you stand in, so we can see where it presses and fix it before the real one is made.
- 4
Building the leg
Socket, pylon, knee if you need one, and foot, lined up for your height and the way you stand.
- 5
Fitting and alignment
Small changes to angles and length while you walk between the bars, until the step feels right.
- 6
Training and check-ups
Walking practice, then reviews. Stumps shrink in the first months, so extra socks and pads are normal.

Life in Pakistan
A leg for life at home, not only for a clinic corridor
Many legs are designed for flat floors and shoes. Life here asks for more. Tell us how you live, and we plan the leg around it.
- Namaz and floor sittingKnee and foot choices that let you kneel, sit on the floor, or use a low stool comfortably.
- Wudu and bathingWaterproof parts on some legs, or a simple shower leg, so you are not hopping on a wet floor.
- Shalwar, khussa and sandalsA foot that suits the shoes you actually wear, and a cosmetic cover if you want one.
- Stairs, slopes and broken roadsFeet and knees that cope with uneven ground, and training on real steps, not only flat floors.
- Karachi heat and sweatLiners and socks that handle a humid summer, and simple ways to keep the skin healthy.
Our promises
What you can expect from us
Patients and families often come to us after a bad experience somewhere else. These are the rules ProstheticLeg.pk works by, for every leg at every price.
What we will do
- Give you a firm price after the assessment, and keep to it.
- Make a clear test socket before the final socket.
- Tell you when a cheaper leg will do the job just as well.
- Show you every part before it goes into your leg.
- Check and repair legs made by other clinics.
What we will not do
- Cast or fit a leg on a wound that has not healed.
- Sell you an imported knee or foot you do not need.
- Promise you will walk without training and practice.
- Call ourselves an official partner of any brand.
- Hurry the fitting to meet a date when the socket is not right.
Components we import and fit to order. We choose the knee and foot that suit you, from many makers, and are not tied to any one brand.

Do I need a doctor's referral to get a prosthetic leg?
No. You can call or come to us directly. If the wound has not fully healed, or if your surgeon wants to see you again first, we will tell you honestly and ask you to go back to them before we cast.
How soon after an amputation can I get a leg?
When the wound has closed and the swelling has settled. For many people that is around six to eight weeks after surgery, and often longer after a diabetic amputation. We check the stump at the free assessment and tell you whether it is ready.
How long does it take to make a prosthetic leg?
A straightforward below-knee leg usually needs two to four visits over about two to three weeks: casting, a test socket, then fitting. Above-knee and hip-level legs take longer because the socket and knee need more fine tuning.
Can I offer namaz with a prosthetic leg?
Yes. Many of our patients pray standing and use a low stool or chair for the sitting parts, and some can kneel with the right knee and foot set-up. Tell us how you pray at the assessment and we will plan the leg and the training around it.
Will people be able to see that I have an artificial leg?
Only if you want them to. Under a shalwar or trousers most legs are not noticed, and a foam or silicone cosmetic cover can give the leg a natural shape and skin tone.
Do you repair legs that were made at another clinic?
Yes. Bring the leg, even if it is old. We check the socket, the bolts, the knee and the foot, and tell you what can be repaired and what needs replacing, with the price, before we touch it.
What should I bring to the first visit?
Your CNIC, any hospital discharge papers or doctor's notes, your old prosthetic leg if you have one, and the shoes you wear most days. If you take diabetes or blood pressure medicine, bring the names.
Do you really answer at night?
Yes. The phone and WhatsApp are answered 24/7. If a socket breaks or a leg becomes painful at night, call us and we will tell you what to do until you can come in.
Send us a photo of the stump and get an honest answer
Tell us the level of the amputation, how long ago it was, and how you hope to walk. We will reply with the kind of leg that fits and a likely price range, before you travel or spend anything.
